Ian Yearsley is a writer and historian who is based in Southend-on-Sea in Essex. Ian has written eight books about Essex history, plus historic tours of Essex and Suffolk places for iPhone. His first novel, 'The Curse of Cannow's End', a supernatural thriller based on Essex's witchcraft legends, was published in October 2012. He has also published two poetry collections and a long epic poem about the Battle of Assandun, which took place in Essex in 1016. He is currently working on a project to uncover the history of a lost Jacobean mansion at Marks Hall near Coggeshall, Essex.
